About StephStephanie Rau has 26 years of dance experience, with a degree in Dance and Theater from Central Michigan University. She has 4 years of teaching experience, including teaching workshops and year- long classes at Wheatland Music Festival’s Traditional Arts Festival, Day of Dance, Spotlight Dance Academy, Lakeshore Academy of the Arts and Cassell Gymnastics and Dance. Her specialties consist of percussive dance styles and social dance styles, including Clogging, Tap, Irish Step Dance, Irish Ceili Dance, Ballroom; Waltz, Tango and Swing! She is married with two kids.

CloggingA form of traditional step dance, originated in the Appalachian Mountains; can also be described as flat-footing or buck dancing. This style of dance is characterized by fast heels and shuffles to the down beat of old time and bluegrass music.

BallroomA formal social dancing in couples, popular as a recreation and also as a competitive activity. The ballroom dance repertoire includes dances such as the waltz, Latin American dances such as the tango, rumba, and cha-cha, and dances of 20th-century origin such as the Swing, foxtrot and quickstep.
